LDR for H&M

When I was looking through my recent Elle magazine I froze when I finally saw a printed version of Lana Del Rey for H&M. Then I froze again yesterday when I saw her commercial for H&M. She sings 'Blue Velvet' in her signature style, like melting icing.

I don't know when H&M are realising this collection, but the day it does, I'll be there. Fo sure.

Also, yesterday I heard the full version of 'Damn You'. I remember when I was on Tumblr, I heard a 30 second snippet of the song. At the end of the clip I was nearly in tears because I wanted more. The song matched exactly what happened to me that night. Lying down in my room at 3am replaying and replaying the 30 second long clip.
It's such a simple song. Repeated verses and choruses. Sounds like a song that was made in a day on a cheap digital music software. But it's the simplicity that entices me.

Wishing to be a Nasty Gal

I know I'm not the only one who can spend hours on Nasty Gal.com

This is hands down my favourite American online store. And it's such a frickin' pity (American accent needed) that the shipping is incredibly expensive to deliver to the UK.
Shipping might even cost more than an item of clothes!

Therefore, when I become a billionaire, so frickin' bad, I'm gonna buy all of the things on Nasty Galllll. And I don't even have to care about the shipping, cos I'll just fly over to the states and get them delivered to my Malibu beach house or my Miami penthouse. Simple as.

Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2012

Again, (luckily) in textiles I'm studying another fashion designer that I actually liked. Previously I did Givenchy Couture and Mary Katrantzou. Now, I'm doing Vivienne Westwood and Dolce & Gabbana.

So fun and interesting!

I love it that I can talk about what really inspires me, not just constant research about different materials and fabrics and materials and fabrics and fabrics and materials and, oh yeah, more materials!

At this moment I'm doing research on how Dolce & Gabbana use ancient historical materials and designs, but creates it into a modern beauty. The meeting of romantic Baroque Italy with the 21st Century woman.

For instance opulent lace material would be used as a mini-skirt or a see-through top showing underwear underneath; but done in the most tasteful way.

Dolce & Gabbana, at their finest.

Prada SS 2012

"Sweetness." - Miuccia Prada

Reminds me of the Hollywood 50s inspired Italian mixed with a fun Marilyn Monroe.

The picture below was taken a few weeks ago when I went to Las Vegas with my family for my Mum's Birthday.

I was obsessed by this motel.

I spotted it whilst walking down the streets on downtown.

It was perched so prettily and beyond retro between the humourously tacky but ever so sweet wedding chapels.

Don't even get me started on the shoes!
